Enes HANCIOĞLU, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Deputy Country Director to the Philippines and Kaan Mahmut DEMÍREL, Expert Engineer visited the on-going infra projects in Central Mindanao on August 5-6, 2018 for monitoring and validation purposes.

The officials went to Brgy. Mother Bagua in Cotabato City where 4-classroom school building is being constructed and to Camp Darapanan in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, a community-recipient of birthing clinic.

Said projects along with other infrastructures that are also underway in the provinces Lanao del Sur, and Davao Oriental are funded by the TIKA of the Turkey Government.

Tahderiyyah App wins Silver Anvil Award

The Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) together with partners from Smart Communications shared joy over the recent recognition awarded by the 54th Anvil Awards on January 30, 2019 in Manila, Philippines.

The two organizations received the Silver Anvil Award for #LearnSmart: Digitizing local language and culture by the community, for the community”, which is about the Tahderiyyah Mobile App that was developed and launched in 2018.

Designed for kindergarten children, said mobile app aims to make learning the Arabic letter and numbers and the Islamic Values become more fun and motivational for the Bangsamoro kids.

BDA executive director expressed delight for this achievement and thanked partners for the support and recognition.

Anvil Awards is presented annually by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP).

March 25, 2019. BDA signed Programme Cooperation Agreement (PCA) with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) for the implementation of the “Institutionalization and Expansion of Tahderiyyah Early Learning Program in Mindanao”.

In the agreement, both parties pledged to work together in a spirit of cooperation and partnership; with the responsibilities and accountabilities set out for this project.

To note, BDA and UNICEF has been partners for the past years in promoting balanced education for Bangsamoro children.

 As development wing of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) is among the key actors expected to become source of information and updates about the recently signed Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).

In doing so, Mohammad S. Yacob, BDA executive director has met with one of its partner, the SMART Communications on August 5, 2018 in Manila to discuss about the BOL.

Dir. Yacob said that SMART requested a meeting to get updates on the BOL, which the BDA has responded accordingly.

The Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) thru Engr. Windel Diangcalan, executive director together with partners from the Ittihadun Madaris Bil Philppines, Inc. (IMBPI) and the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) met with Mohagher Iqbal, minister of the Ministry of Education of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) on April 18, 2019 at the latter’s office in Cotabato City.

 

 

 

Local government units (LGUs) of the provinces of Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao welcome development projects in their respective areas of jurisdiction as they expressed support during the courtesy call conducted by team from Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) in line with the social preparation component of the Quick Response Project (QRP).

QRP is a project being implemented in six major camps of the MILF supported by the Government of the Philippines (GPH) through the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) and in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

During the activity, staff from BDA presented about the BDA, which highlights included history, accomplishments and future directions of BDA.

As to the QRP, the team stressed that the project is a product of the GPH-MILF Peace Process, it is in line with the government’s commitment and counterpart to the implementation of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).

The local chief executive of Kapatagan, Lanao Sur expressed strong support to the project and said; “you are very welcome in our province because I know that what you are bringing is a project for the development of our community”.

Mayor Salik Mamsabulod of Pagalungan in Maguindanao likewise responded positively to the project by stating that his administration is even willing to share counterpart to the project if needed.

Representatives from the OPAPP and officials from the Joint Task Forces on Camp Transformation (JTFCT) also joined the BDA during the coordination meetings with the LGUs.

Under the QRP, there will be eighteen (18) types of socio-economic infrastructure (SEI) projects to be constructed in eighteen barangays across the MILF camps namely Camp Omar, Camp Abubakar As-Siddique, Camp Rajamuda, Camp Badre, Camp Bilal and Camp Bushra.

At present, BDA team is simultaneously conducting community-wide orientation to barangay-recipients of the project for proper understanding and appreciation of the beneficiaries to the QRP.

 

 

 

The Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) joined the rest of the Bangsamoro on the call for the approval of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) as demonstrated during the recent Bangsamoro People Peace Rally “The Final Push for an Acceptable BBL” on July 6, 2018 at Cotabato City Plaza.

Thousands of Bangsamoro consisted of men, women, the youth along with other sectors convened on the said date to plead collectively for the fast passage of the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law that will create new political entity in Mindanao.

 

Mustafa KERÍMOĞLU, the new country director of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) to the Philippines visited the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) together with M.Enes HANCIOĞLU, deputy country director on February 28, 2019 at the latter office in Cotabato City

BDA key staff Rhadzni Taalim, Engr. Amil Kali, Engr. Abdulgaffar Sundang and Hairanna Z. Daud welcomed and accommodated the officials.

In a short meeting at BDA Office, BDA presented updates regarding the progress of the on-going TIKA supported infrastructure projects in various communities in Bangsamoro.

BDA also accompanied the TIKA officials to the project sites for direct inspection and monitoring of the progressing infra projects.

TIKA is supporting the construction of five units of school building and three units of birthing clinic in the Bangsamoro.

The visitors also gained updates about the Mobile Operating Clinic that they have donated to Bangsamoro as well as the status of medicines they purchased for distribution during medical mission in the region.

 

March 26, 2019. Donor partners of the Mindanao Trust Fund (MTF), a fund facility administered by the World Bank and the Spanish Agency International Cooperation and Development (AECID) met today BARMM Interim Chief Minister Al-Haj Murad Ebrahim in Cotabato City.

MTF has various donors such as the European Union, the government of Sweden, Australia, Canada, United States, New Zealand and the World Bank.

They have been supporting socio-economic programs in the Bangsamoro since 2006 through the Mindanao Trust Fund-Reconstruction and Development Program (MTFRDP), which is now on its Phase II (covering MILF six major camps) with the BDA as the main implementing partner.

MinDA visit to BDA

Windel Diangcalan, executive director of the Bangsamoro Development Agency met with the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Team, headed by Director Rey Tan, at the BDA office in Cotabato City on July 30, 2019. The two parties discussed concerns on the ways forward on the Bangsamoro Economic Corridors and concerns about development outside BARMM.
