“For 16 years at BDA, it is expected that we are capacitated, we are ready and willing to help the Bangsamoro government”, Dr. Piang further stated.
BDA, established as product of the GPH-MILF peace process has been primarily mandated for the relief and rehabilitation in the CAAM and to build the capacity of the Bangsamoro for future governance role.
With the signing of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL), BDA as development arm of the MILF shall find niche and stay as relevant actor given the current situation.
It is noted, that in undertaking activities geared towards its vision, BDA has been exposed to governance and implementation issues which were intended to build its governance capability. The agency has to establish administrative, financial, and procurement systems to ensure transparent and systematic utilization of funds given to it.
At present, BDA goes on with its on-going development efforts and shall continue to perform duties as mandated.
For BDA, BOL will enhance development initiatives in the Bangsamoro.
