Bangsamoro asatidz learn strategies for better advocacy of Model Family in Islam

At least ten (10) asatidz (plural form of ustadz/Islamic teacher/scholar) from various committees of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) convened on September 26-29, 2018 at Green Leaf Hotel in General Santos City for the workshop on information, education and communication (IEC) Development for the Fatwa on Model Family in Islam.

The overall goal of the activity was to come up with strategies to better advocate the official rulings on model family in Islam by teaching participants of the importance of communication in advocacy.

During the workshop, participants were grouped into four based on sub-topics of the Fatwa on Model Family in Islam and worked together for the development of the communication plan for this campaign.

Facilitator of the activity gave inputs on advocacy, communication, research, messaging, stakeholder analysis, timing and channel of communication.

Informative videos related to the topics discussed were also presented during the workshop.

This 3-day event was organized in line with the on-going program on reproductive health advocacy in the Bangsamoro by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) with partners from Bangsamoro Leadership Management Institute (BLMI) and Commission on Population (POPCOM).
