Officers from the Al-Amanah Islamic Bank visited the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) for an orientation of their products and services on January 11, 2019 corresponding to the weekly meeting of the agency.

Mohammad S. Yacob, BDA executive director welcomed the visitors together with the key officers and staff of the agency.

During the activity, Nasor Abdullatif presented about Al-Amanah Islamic Bank, discussed its products and services, which accordingly are Shari’ah compliant. 

In his session, Abdulgafor also spoke about the relevance of promoting Islamic Banking as one way for one to have halal living.

Atty. Imelda Tarhata Macarambon, talked about brief story of the Al-Amanah Islamic Bank and how it has evolved realizing its role in the promotion of Islamic banking among Muslims.

“From our system before, we have enhanced and simplified some of our requirements for instance, our micro finance service” Atty. Macarambon stated.

She clarified that Amanah Bank shall comply with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the bank does not made the decisions and requirements by itself.

She likewise mentioned about good stories of some of their clients who availed their services and became a successful entrepreneur.

Atty. Macarambon expressed hope for the support of fellow Muslims for the Amanah Bank, which at present is strengthening its advocacy on the promotion of Islamic Banking.

The Amanah Bank Team also mentioned about their possible role once the Bangsamoro Government is established.

 “Let us help one another. For every deposit, think that you are helping your fellow Muslims. And when we help each other, we are helping the Ummah”, she said.

Julhaina Cadon, BDA head for finance division facilitated the open forum where BDA staff raised some questions like microfinancing, car loan, hajj (pilgrimage) and among others.

The visitors responded accordingly the queries from participants and told that whoever interested may come to their Cotabato City Branch for further information and assistance.

Reina Madonna Gayak, Amanah Bank- Cotabato City Branch Manager and Lady Asrea Usman were other officer from the bank attended the activity.

A visit from Hiroshima Univ.

Project partners for the Mindanao Trust Fund- Reconstruction and Development Project Phase II (MTFRDP/2-AECID) met on March 5, 2019 at CFSI Headquarters in Pasay City for the 3rd Project Executive Committee (PEC) Meeting.  

 Engr. Windel Diangcalan, deputy executive director of the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) represented agency to said meeting.

You help us develop our community

Message of thanks flows in camp communities as clean water runs especially for those who received water project recently turned over through the Mindanao Trust Fund- Reconstruction and Development Project Phase II (MTFRDP/2).

The people organization in Brgy. Sadangen, Gen. SKP in Maguindanao formally received the project that was solar-powered water system level II during the turnover ceremony on August 18, 2019.

“For the longer time, we never expect that development would reach us here in the mountains. There were organizations also who came here but did not pursue the project because of the distance.”

These were the words of people in the barangays of Kinebeka in Datu Odin Sinsuat and Datalpandan in Guindulungan all the province of Maguindanao as they formally received development projects on August 18, 2019.

Community members, key officials and leaders of Brgy. Inug-ug in Pikit, North Cotabato are grateful for being part of the Mindanao Trust Fund- Reconstruction and Development Project Phase II (MTFRDP/2)- a development project implemented in the six major camps of the MILF.

During the community-wide orientation in the said village, participants expressed thanks to BDA, CFSI and partners for bringing development project to their community.

““For the long time, development projects were only passing by in our community. We are happy that now the project is coming and we are supportive”, BIAF member told.

The Bangsamoro Development Agency headed by Executive Director Mohammad S. Yacob recently hosted the Values Transformation Training in Barangay Saniag in Ampatuan, Maguindanao in Camp Omar as part of the social preparation for the communities engaged in the Mindanao Trust Fund – Reconstruction and Development Project Phase (MTF-RDP/2).

In an update given by Hashim Manticayan, Head of the Human Resource Division of BDA, he reported that Maguindanaon and Indigenous Peoples (IPs) were trained on the values needed to be promoted and applied as individual human beings.

Manticayan also relayed that the residents were vocally happy about the training and that one IP participant even went on suggesting to send her kids to learn about the values being inculcated by the organization to its workforce with added Islamic knowledge in general.

The project was funded through the Mindanao Trust Fund- Reconstruction and Development Project Phase II (MTFRDP/2), a program partnership signed between BDA and CFSI that aims to improve access of targeted communities in the conflict-affected areas in Mindanao to basic socio-economic infrastructure and alternative learning system. Moreover, this is in line with the Normalization Aspect of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).

During the turnover ceremony, the people’s organization received certificate of turnover that signals the formal acceptance of the project and the responsibility on operation, maintenance and sustainability.

The turnover ceremony became a gathering of all sectors in the community that speaks of the unity and common aspirations for development of everyone.

In a courtesy meeting to the leadership of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) on August 21, 2018 in Camp Darapanan, Sultan Kudarat, delegations from Turkey expressed continued support to Bangsamoro.

“We will help you the best that we can”, a Turkey official stated.
